One Student Fatally Shot, 2 Injured in Greensburg, Louisiana School Shooting!

After a shooting at St. Helena High School in Greensburg, Louisiana, one student died and another was badly injured on Tuesday, 12, September, 2023.

The event occurred around 3:30 p.m. local time, when school was being released, according to a St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Department representative.

That a suspect has been apprehended. Authorities in Baton Rouge WBRZ that the suspect is a 14-year-old pupil. Two other kids were hurt, and a 14-year-old is in custody. A third student had an injury. All three were students at the institution.

The critically injured student was evacuated to a nearby hospital. Their current status is unknown.

Sheriff’s deputies and the crime lab, as well as city police, are on the site. Authorities have not found a motive for the shooting. One of the injured victims was transferred to a nearby hospital, while the other was airlifted.

The St. Helena Parish School District’s Facebook page has a message on the tragedy.

“A tragic incident occurred on the campus of St. Helena College and Career Academy,” according to the statement. “The scene is still active, and we are working closely with authorities at this time. An official statement from the school district is forthcoming regarding details that can be shared with the community.  School is canceled until Friday as well as the football game and School Board meeting. Grief counselors will be available for all learners upon their return this Friday.”
