Derrick Even though Henry was having one of his greatest games of the year, the Tennessee Titans running back hurt himself on Sunday. What transpired with Henry in Week 13, and how is his injury right now?
Derrick Henry Injury Update
Before going down during a first-down run early in the fourth quarter of the Titans’ game against the AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts, Henry had already recorded 21 carries for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
He got up slowly and made his way to Tennessee’s sideline, where there was a blue medical tent. Henry entered the tent with an NFL concussion expert, indicating that he was undergoing evaluation for a head injury. See the tweet for more details:

Henry left the medical tent, went to the Titans’ locker room, and never came back to the game on Sunday. With Henry out, third-round rookie Tyjae Spears assumed the role of the Titans’ lead back.
At the start of Week 13, Spears, who finished his career at Tulane with over 1,800 yards rushing, had only missed 32 offensive snaps but had received over 100 fewer touches than the seasoned running back.
Head coach Mike Vrabel stated on Monday that Henry is not in the NFL’s concussion protocol and is not exhibiting any symptoms, despite early reports suggesting he was. Tennessee will keep an eye on the seasoned player, though, before playing the Miami Dolphins on Monday night.
The NFL has placed Henry under concussion protocol, according to a Monday morning report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Week 14 begins Monday night when Tennessee plays the Miami Dolphins; Henry will have an extra day to get through the league’s head injury protocol.
Even yet, Henry might have trouble passing the necessary exams in time for MNF. Henry, who will turn thirty in January, caught at least three hundred carries in three of the four seasons prior. In 2024, he will be eligible to sign free agency.

Fantasy Fallout From Henry’s Injury
After Henry hit two consecutive games with multiple touchdowns, fantasy managers began to see glimpses of the prior fantasy greatness we saw from him. Spears would instantly join the RB2 discussion with RB1 upside in a feature role if Henry were to miss any time in the upcoming weeks.
Is Derrick Henry Fully Healed?
But all in all, it appears that Henry’s injuries healed successfully and is now firmly in the past. Furthermore, the statistics indicate that he remains among the NFL’s most productive running backs.
But it’s becoming clear that Henry is, in some sense, going backward. The YPC and RYOE show that Henry is less effective, breaking through tackles less frequently and breaking the “big one” at a far slower pace. In 2022, Henry’s longest run was 56 yards. the lowest since the debut season of his career.
