Possible Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of Stockton High School

STOCKTON, California — The According to the Stockton Unified School District, a call was received on Thursday concerning a bomb threat, which caused the evacuation of a high school in the Stockton area.

According to the district leaders, the decision to evacuate the students of Franklin High School was made out of an abundance of caution.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office maintains canines trained to detect the presence of explosives at the school.

“Although the threat does not appear to be credible we must take all threats seriously and students were evacuated,”  the school system explained in a letter that was sent to the families.

On the Stokes Avenue side of the football field, an area designated for the reconciliation of separated student groups has been established.

Students were expelled from school around forty minutes before their regularly scheduled dismissal time, before the final bell.
