DARROW – After a shooting in Ascension Parish on Sunday, a teenage boy was slain and his sibling remains in critical condition.
The incident took place in Darrow on LA 22, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. The other kid was brought to a hospital in severe condition, and deputies discovered a teenage male deceased at the scene.
Treylon Brown, 15, was the youngster who was killed, according to law authorities. Officials also stated that although Brown’s 16-year-old brother is still receiving treatment for critical wounds, his condition is reportedly “improving.”
There was no additional information available right away. The APSO reported that no motive or suspect was known as of Tuesday morning.
Bryford Wilson, Brown’s previous coach in recreational football, claims that he didn’t deserve what happened to him.
“He was a humble kid, very happy, very mannerable, very respectable. He had a certain leadership quality about him that you just couldn’t teach,” Wilson said.
Wilson has a long-standing friendship with Brown and his family. Wilson claims that Brown had a lot of potentials.
“Many people don’t know but he was an avid chess player. So he had the athleticism, the brains, and the mannerisms to be a very successful man.”
