Michael started acting in the late 1990s in off-Broadway plays. Some of his early film roles were in ‘Bad Company’ and ‘Kissing Jessica Stein.’
His big break came when he played Ricky Nash in ‘Barbershop’ in 2002, and he came back for the sequel in 2004. He was also in ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’ in 2003.
Michael acted alongside DMX in ‘Never Die Alone’ in 2004 and even appeared in a Mariah Carey music video in 2005.
In 2005, he starred alongside Halle Berry in a TV movie called ‘Their Eyes Were Watching God.’ He also starred in ‘Jellysmoke’ in the same year. Michael was in the Showtime series ‘Sleeper Cell’ for the first two seasons, which aired in 2005 and 2006.
