NJ – RIDGEWOOD On Monday, police attended a possible threat at Ridgewood High School. For almost 40 minutes, the school was on lockdown while local police, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Regional S.W.A.T. Team, and nearby police agencies performed a comprehensive search.
There is no active threat, it has been concluded following a thorough inspection of the structure and its surroundings.
The Board of Education said that all students and staff were safe and the school day would go as usual. School resource officers will remain on site for the rest of the day as an extra security measure.

Guidance counselors and advisers will also be on hand to provide assistance as needed.
8:25 p.m. The incident resulted from a phony 9-1-1 call, according to the Ridgewood Police Department. When a prank caller uses a threat to provoke a significant police enforcement reaction, this is referred to as “swatting.” Law enforcement is still looking into the issue.
