Pawling School District Lifts Lockdown After Suspect Is Arrested

The Pawling Central School District’s lockdown has been lifted and a suspect has been taken into custody.

The lockdown was caused by someone posting a picture of a gun with the caption “close the schools,” the superintendent wrote in a letter on the district’s website.

According to information provided to News 12, the person in the photo resembles a former Pawling pupil. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office currently has that person within its care.

When police conducted their investigation, News 12 was informed that there was a more significant police presence at the school.
