On February 14, 2023, Helen May Turner Norris, 87, who had formerly resided in Ripley, West Virginia, passed away in Murfreesboro. She was a native of Huddleston, Virginia, and was predeceased by her husband Mark Barnes, brothers Delbert and Royce Turner, and parents Hampton Turner and Edna May Conant Turner.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was all of these. She devoted her life to being a homemaker and a prayer warrior for her loved ones. She was a devout believer of Jesus Christ and served Him for many years in the churches she frequented as a choir member, Sunday School instructor, and loyal attendee.
She belonged to Murfreesboro, Tennessee’s Franklin Road Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Delbert Leland Norris; her children, Joseph Leland Norris and Doreen; Dr. Mike Norris and wife Mila; John Timothy Norris and wife Kathy; Angela Arlene Barnes; Amy Darlene Herdman; and husband John.

She also leaves behind grandchildren, Brian Joseph Norris and Laura; Joel Hampton Norris and Lauren; Jessica Leigh Elliott and husband Ryan; Jaclyn Renee Miller; Collin Visitation will be 11:00 AM through 1:00 PM Friday at Franklin Road Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at Franklin Road Baptist Church at 1:00 PM. Mike Norris, MD, will preside.
