UNC Chapel Hill And Jacksonville Shootings Prompt Discussion On Campus Security

Concerned students called the police, who approached the automobile. The driver fled, and then shot and killed three African Americans at a neighboring Dollar General store. The act in question is now being investigated as a hate crime.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has since authorized $1 million toward campus security at Edward Waters University, in addition to $100,000 for the victims’ families.
