Senator Dianne Feinstein, who passed away last week, will be honored at San Francisco City Hall this Wednesday.
The public can come to pay their respects and sign a condolence book from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feinstein’s career in public service started at City Hall in 1969 when she was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
She later became mayor after the tragic deaths of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk in 1978, serving two terms.
A funeral service for Feinstein will take place at the steps of San Francisco City Hall on Thursday at 1 p.m. The public is welcome to attend, but there will be limited space in Civic Center Plaza for standing.
They initially planned to show it inside City Hall, but that’s changed. They will still broadcast it online; details will be shared later this week.
