Pittsburg High School Was Evacuated; Someone called in a bomb threat, so Pittsburg High School students were sent home early on Thursday. At 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, an unknown man called the Pittsburg police and said he had put bombs on the school’s campus.
Police said in a Facebook post that a school resource officer on campus in Pittsburg immediately contacted school staff. At first, police and school staff moved students to a safe area while specially trained police dogs and officers searched the grounds.
“However, out of an abundance of caution and due to the size of the campus, the school district coordinated an early release schedule for the students,” police said. “All students were escorted away from the campus, and the school district arranged their release to parents at this location.”
