MRA’s Joshua Hubbard Sets New High School Basketball Scoring Record

Joshua Hubbard, a star player for MRA, breaks an all-time scoring record in the state of Mississippi. Lebron James recently passed Kareem Abdoul-Jabar for the NBA’s all-time scoring record.

Joshua Hubbard has broken the previous scoring mark for high school basketball in Magnolia State with 4,275 points.

He outperformed Robert Woodard, a former MSU forward, for the distinctive mark. Also, he overtook Lanier icon Monta Ellis, who was ranked second all-time in scoring.

Joshua Hubbard scored 28 points in a hard-fought 55-54 victory over PCS in the 6A-MAIS playoffs, despite needing 26 points to win. With 42 seconds left, he scored the game-winning goal.

The PCS audience greeted Hubbard after the game, where he was accompanied by his parents, teammates, and Ole Miss head coach Kermit Davis.

After the MAIS State and MAIS Overall tournaments, Hubbard, the state’s all-time leading scorer, and an Ole Miss recruit, will be moving to Oxford.
