Brittney Griner, the talented WNBA player, has had strong support from her parents. Her dad, Raymond Griner, used to be a deputy sheriff and a Vietnam War veteran.

After the military, he worked in the sheriff’s office in Texas for about 30 years. His experience in the military made him a good fit for this job.

Brittney’s mom, Sandra Griner, is a homemaker. We don’t know much about her background, but she’s around 55 years old. Sandra and Raymond have four kids, and Brittney is the youngest.

It’s interesting that Brittney’s parents aren’t very tall. Her dad is about 6 feet 2 inches tall, and her mom is 5 feet 6 inches tall.

Brittney’s sister, Pier, is 5 feet 8 inches tall. In contrast, Brittney is exceptionally tall at 6 feet 9 inches, making her one of the tallest players in WNBA history. Her height has helped her excel in scoring and blocking shots during her basketball career.

Brittney Griner is really, really good at playing basketball. She was so good that she got picked first in the 2013 WNBA Draft after shining at Baylor University.

In just one year, she helped her team, the Phoenix Mercury, win the championship. Brittney has been with the Mercury her whole career and was chosen as an All-Star eight times. She was also the top scorer in the league in 2017 and 2019.

Even though she’s only played in the WNBA for less than ten years, Brittney is fourth in history for blocking shots with 716. She even set a record in 2014 for blocking 129 shots in a single season.

It’s sad that she can’t play basketball right now because of some legal trouble in Russia. But on October 25, a Russian court will listen to her appeal, and maybe her prison sentence will be shortened.
